The Assessor establishes property values. The local taxing authorities (county, school district,
city, fire protection, and other special districts) set mill levies. The mill levy requested by each
taxing authority is based on a projected budget and the property tax revenue required to
adequately fund the services it provides to its taxpayers. The local taxing authorities hold
budget hearings in the fall. If you are concerned about mill levies, we recommend that you
attend these budget hearings. Please refer to last year's tax bill or ask your Assessor for a
listing of the local taxing authorities.

To preserve your appeal rights, your Petition to the County Board of Equalization must be
postmarked or delivered on or before July 15 for real property and on or before July 20 for

proof of mailing.
You will be notified of the date and time scheduled for your hearing. The County Board of

Susie and Jeff,
Based on sales and available properties most similar to your property, I'm afraid that there is a very good
chance that your house may sell for the low$300's or even the upper$200's. If the dogs are not moved
and the back yard remains as is, or you are talking about a marketing period of less than six or eight
months, most probably upper$200's. Rangeview is not commanding the prices it once did, the market is
bad anyway, and properties like 2123 63rd Avenue(included), offered for$299,900 with the same
amount of finished square feet and a three-car garage, are going to be strong competition. 1218 43rd
Avenue, under contract with an offering price of$194,500, sold previously for$265,000.
I'm sure that this is not good news, but that is my honest opinion. There is a three-year supply of homes
in the$250,000 to$375,000 price range, and most sales have been of bank-owned homes.
I would certainly be interested in listing your home, but it will have to be at a price where it will sell. If you
