RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 36 BETWEEN U.S. HIGHWAY 85 AND COUNTY
ROAD 33 FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 (SIX) WEEKS, FOR INSTALLATION OF A
WATERLINE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close
to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and
personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to
temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said
County roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide
traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 36, between U.S. Highway 85 and
County Road 33, be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 1, 2012,
through April 9, 2012, in order to install a waterline, and further, that standard official traffic
control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 29th day of February, A.D., 2012.

SUBJECT: Agenda Item/Road Closure
Northern Colorado Constructors, Inc. is requesting, on behalf of Central Weld County Water
District, to close CR 36 between Hwy 85 and CR 33 in one mile sections beginning March 1, 2012
to April 9,2012. The closure is for the installation of a waterline to a residence whose well has been
contaminated and water is being trucked in daily.
WCR 36 (gravel surface, ADT 157 on March 21, 2008).
All residents and local business will be notified of closure and will be given access as needed during
the project. Contractor will water detour routes as needed to control dust.
