HomeMy WebLinkAbout760499.tiff RESOLUTION RE: DISPOSITION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY BY WELD COUNTY AT AUCTION. WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the responsibility of administering the affairs of Weld County. WHEREAS, Section 3-8 (4) (1) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter provides that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, have the power to sell personal pro- perty, and WHEREAS, Weld County has accumulated certain items of personal property which, in the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, is no longer needed for the ordinary governmental functions of Weld County, Colorado, and is now considered to be surplus and should be disposed of, which property is set forth in detail in Exhibits A through E , inclusive attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, and WHEREAS, the Board believes it to be in the best interest of the County that the aforementioned items of personal property be sold pursuant to law at public auction to be held at 9 : 00 A.M. on August 27, 1976 at the Exhibition Building at Island Grove Park in Greeley, Colorado. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, thatthe County Finance Officer for Weld County, advertise the sale of the said afore- mentioned personal property pursuant to the appropriate statutes governing such sales; and that any and all moneys received from such sale held at 9 : 00 A.M. on August 27 , 1976, shall be de- posited in the County General Fund. 1 id 760499 NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, and hereby directs the Chairman of the Board to sign all certificates of sale having to do with the aforementioned items. Bower, Sheriff of Weld County and moves this Court for an Order to conduct a Sheriff ' s sale and as • reasons '_nerefore shows the Court the following: 1) The items of unclaimed property on Exhibit A attached hereto have been accumulated in the Weld County Sheriff ' s Office over the past • three years . • 2) The items of property on said Exhibit A have been accumulated as evidence, found and not claimed , seised pursuant to lawful searches and deposited for safekeeping. 3) All rea„onable attempts to trace the true owners of said property have been made to no avail . 4 ) It is necessary that these items of property be disposed of so that the Weld County Sheriff ' s • • Office has adequate room in which to conduct its operations. 5) The.
