RE: PIERCE AMBULANCE SUB-STATION AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared for the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, for the year 1976, a copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and
WHEREAS, after careful review and consideration of the agreement
the board believes it to be in the best interest of the County to accept the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Pierce Ambulance Sub-
Sation agreement be, and the same is hereby approved and accepted for
signature by the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said agreement shall be in effect
until further order of the Board.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 3rd day of March, A.D. , 1976.

PIERCE AMBULANCE SUB-STATION AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, dated this 3rd day of March, A.D. , 1976,
by and between the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
hereinafter called the County, and the Pierce Ambulance Sub-Station, here-
inafter called Pierce.
WITNESSETH:
That in consideration of the mutual promises, obligations, and other
considerations herein expressed, it is mutually agreed as hereinafter stated,
that:
1. Pierce will be included as a part of the Weld County, Colorado
Ambulance Department, which will be totally responsible for its operation
and effectiveness.
2. The Department Director shall be responsible for the operation
of the service, including the scheduling of the volunteers.
3. An advisory board consisting of five (5) members shall be created
and composed of two (2) department members, and three (3) volunteer members
to be as follows:
A. The advisory board shall make recommendations to the Department
Director on the operation of the service, including scheduling of volunteers,
B. The Department Assistant Director shall serve as a member of
the advisory board.
C. The Department training liaison person shall serve as a member
of the advisory board.
D. Three (3) volunteer representatives shall be elected, by the
volunteers, within thirty (30) days from the date of the resolution.
E. Other than the department members, all advisory board members
shall serve a term of one year and until the successor is elected.
F. Other than the department members, all advisory board members
shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.
G. The Board shall consist of a chairperson, vice-chairperson, a
secretary and two department members.
H. There shall be established monthly, a business meeting by the
advisory board, which will be open to attendance by all volunteers. Im-
mediately following the business meeting, a training session on continuing
education shall be scheduled and it will be mandatory for all volunteers to
attend.
I. All duly active and certified EMT volunteers shall be compensated
One Dollar ($1 . 00) per month upon proof of such certification by the Weld
County Ambulance Director.
4. Training will be the responsibility of the ambulance department
and one department person will act as a training liaison with the volunteers
training coordinator.
A. Any special training session which volunteers wish to attend, at
County expense, must be cleared through the County at least three (3) weeks
in advance of the session.
B. It is highly recommended that all volunteers pursue membership
in the Emergency Medical Technician Association of Colorado.
5. All ambulances of the Weld County Ambulance Service will be
tied into the Region II Emergency Medical Services System Communications
System and the Weld County Communications Network as soon as possible.
In the interim, the present State Patrol and Empire Dispatch systems will
be utilized.
A. All dispatching will be done by the department of the County
Communications Systems when it becomes available.
6. The volunteers will not be required to wear the official uniform,
but instead, will have a heavy jacket with appropriate identification for
winter wear and a smock for summer wear on ambulance calls. These
uniforms WILL NOT be worn except on official business (i. e. ambulance
calls, training sessions, unit meetings). The cost of the uniforms will be
the responsibility of the volunteers.
7. All medical supplies will be drawn from the County on a monthly
basis. The secretary shall be responsible for ordering supplies from the
County.
A. Most ambulance calls will terminate in Greeley and linens can
be exchanged at the County. Other linens can be held and brought to the
County.
8, Pierce will utilize forms, stationery, and supplies drawn from
the County. All correspondence will be carried on from the County.
9, Pierce is required to provide garage, supply storage and class-
room space.
A. Vehicle maintenance will be performed by the County Shops in
Greeley. Any repairs or work of any nature needing to be completed on the
vehicle must be cleared through the department first, before going to the
shops. Gasoline will be purchased locally in Pierce to insure a full tank
on each run. The vehicle must be filled with gasoline after each ambulance
call. Any gasoline purchased on long ambulance runs will be reimbursed to
the volunteers, providing a receipt is furnished.
B. Those on call each Monday and Friday evening will be required
to check all supplies and complete the vehicle check list. Those on call
Saturday afternoon will be required to clean the garage and vehicle. The
vehicle will also be cleaned and restocked after each ambulance call.
10. It is recognized that in order to insure that a uniform level of
care is available, all driver/attendants will be required to participate in
regular inservice classes and other training experiences as deemed appro-
priate by the ambulance director or by the State Department of Health. New
volunteers cannot go on ambulance calls until completion of the 5th week of
EMT training and then will be utilized as third persons on ambulance calls
until their EMT training is completed. Also, to maintain a level of training,
all volunteers will be required to spend one eight hour shift every other month
in the emergency department of Weld County General Hospital,
11. Pierce volunteers will be considered County employees and
will be covered by the County liability insurance policy.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said parties have subscribed and executed
this agreement, the County in its proper name and by its proper authorized
officers, attested by its Clerk and Seal, and said Pierce by its proper name
and proper officers on behalf of the volunteers duly authorized by them, on
the date first above written.
