RE: DENIAL OF PETITION SUBMITTED AND ACCEPTANCE OF WELD COUNTY
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT'S RECOMMENDATION REGARDING 24TH
STREET AND FAIRWAY LANE IN HIGHLAND HILLS SUBDIVISION.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on September 21, 1977, the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, received a petition signed
by owners of real property abutting on West 24th Street from
54th Avenue, West to Fairway Lane, North to 20th Street, re-
questing the Board to improve West 24th Street from 54th Avenue,
West to Fairway Lane and North to 20th Street, and
WHEREAS , on August 8, 1977, the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado did approve, by Resolution, the accep-
tance of the roads and streets from Highland Hills Subdivision
into the County Road System for Maintenance, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering Services has informed
the Board of County Commissioners, after inspection of the above-
mentioned streets in Highland Hills Subdivision, that due to the
August 8, 1977 decision of the Board by resolution, that said
Department of Engineering Services ' recommendation is to continue
to maintain the roads and streets in Highland Hills Subdivision
according to the resolution passed on August 8 , 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the above-mentioned
recommendation of the Weld County Department of Engineering
Services, be, and hereby is, granted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado, that the petition submitted, as afore-
mentioned, be , and hereby is, denied.

and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 5th day of

Site inspection September 28 , 1977. These roads come
under the Resolution dated August 8, 1977 "Acceptance
of Roads and Streets from Highland Hills Subdivision
Into The County Road System For Maintenance" , therefore,
the Department of Engineering does not recommend paving
of the requested roads .

The undersigned, owners of the real property abutting on
West 24th Street from 54th Avenue, West to Fairway Lane, North to
20th Street, hereby petition the Weld County Board of Commissioners
for the improvement of West 24th Street from. 54th Avenue, West to
Fairway Lane, North to 20th Street.
The requested improvements consist of:
a. Pavement of the above designated streets with asphalt.
b. Construction of California curbing and guttering.

The landowners of Highland Hills are going to have
the streets paved. They are not forming an improvement
district that requires a mill levy. The engineers dept.
is working with them to hire a private contractor, etc.
After completion the streets will be accepted by the County.
