The signs will be in place from May 14, 2012-June 11, 2012. The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) recommends posting the speed limit within 5 mph of the 85 percentile speed limit (Section 2B-13). Other factors such as road characteristics, roadside development, accident records, and shoulder conditions may be considered when establishing speed limits. Due to the mill and overlay construction on WCR 49 Public Works recommends reducing the speed limit on WCR 49 from WCR 32 to WCR 42 from 65 to 45 mph.
