As you know, the Board of Weld County Commissioners rejected my request for funding for Senior Resource Services in the amount of$5,000. They recommend giving through the Area Agency on Aging, AGAIN. I have visited with Eva Jewell in the past and was informed there are no extra funds. I was informed today that Eldergarden just received funds from the County Commissioners to purchase a van. I am thoroughly confused and upset that they would approve that sum of money to an organization only serving their clients and SRS is serving all seniors in Weld County. For your information, I will be pursuing this partnership by contacting Judy Griego, Director of Human Services to evaluate the possibilities of receiving funding for the "much needed" service we provide--transportation. Because of the new policy of out sourcing with First Transit we are receiving numerous referrals and calls from individuals requesting transportation. We have given 47% more round trip rides this past year and are expecting even more growth in the future. It is very upsetting to me that our County only assists the same agencies over and over and the new agency that is providing the psycho-social needs of our seniors in Weld County struggle to "be accepted" as a recipient of funding from our County. As you can see, I am not going to give up on this, so if there is any way I can proceed that you know of, please let me know. Respectfully, ‘,./Z1,!6, DeeAnn Groves, M.A. Executive Director Gerontologist Cc: J Griego C.1:- nr Lknik uOCAOY et.' } 5 D 2012-0181 1-16 - la Hello
