Food Stapp sales reached a Weld County record of $320,146. Although the number of households buying stamps increased slightly (by only 17) , cost-of-living adjustments have increased the value of the stamps sold. Still , the number of households buying in Weld County is the high- est in the past 2 years. Aid to Dependent Children cases showed a net increase of 15 households (17 individuals) . Female-headed households increased by 31 while households with unemployed adult males de- creased by 16. Counting total people, 14 ,947 received some form of financial assistance through the De- partment (public assistance, Food Stamps Medicaid, pension, etc.) This compares with 13,234 people during August, 1976. in addition, 1,303 households received protective and/or counseling services from casework staff. Department expenditures (excluding Old Age Pension) for August were $483,985.
