The deadline for filing real property appeals is July 15. The Assessor establishes property values. The local taxing authorities (county, school district, city, fire protection, and other special districts) set mill levies. The mill levy requested by each taxing authority is based on a projected budget and the property tax revenue required to adequately fund the services it provides to its taxpayers. The local taxing authorities hold budget hearings in the fall. If you are concerned about mill levies, we recommend that you attend these budget hearings. I have attached two documents that show the sales price of units in the same complex in the time frame you requested we work within. Unit 413 sold on 11-30-2011 for $77,500. It is the same size as mine and has the same amenities: Unit 518 sold on 5-31-2012 for $43,000. On an adjusted sq foot value would put my unit at $67,188. I am asking for a value of $77,500 for my unit. On another note, I also own unit 414. I sent an appeal in for it and have not had a response from the county on it. I would also ask for the same $77,500 value for it. Would you please consider it also?
