SUBJECT: Backhoe, 4 -Wheel Drive/Extendable Boom, Bid 81300003
The Public Works Department recommends awarding the bid to the second low bidder, Colorado Machinery.
The lowest bidder, Power Equipment, does not meet specs for digging depth of 15'9" to retracted maximum
depth of 19.6".
The price for one John Deere 410K Backhoe with 4 -Wheel Drive Extendable Boom is $86,500.00. One
complete set of manuals is available on-line for a one-time purchase price of $1,656.93 and on-line
subscription costs of $1,500 annually. The Public Works Department recommends that G4S purchase these
manuals.
There is $80,000 budgeted for this purchase. If you have any questions, please call me at extension 3739.
This backhoe is used for culvert repairs, cattle guard repairs and installs, and loading salt and sand for
sanders. This is a replacement vehicle.
