My opposition is out of concern that it will negatively impact nesting wildlife in the area, especially raptors such as bald eagles, osprey, and great horned owls, all of which nest near Fort St. Vrain near Platteville. While no longer engendered or threatened, the eagles and osprey are still of special concern. They are all a valuable part of our ecosystem, controlling the rodent population.
