The two bids were received from J-2 Contracting and Colorado Precast Concrete, Inc. J-2 submitted three prices on three different stock piles, with the prices ranging from $7.50 a ton to $8.50 a ton. This material has already be crushed and screened. Colorado Precast Concrete submitted one price on a material that needs to be crushed and screened. Their price was $4.50 a ton; it will cost Weld County $3.24 a ton to crush this material. The total cost to buy and crush this material from Colorado Precast would be $7.74 a ton. This material will be used for 2013 HRP Construction projects. It is our recommendation to award this contract to both J-2 Contracting Company and Colorado Precast Concrete, Inc. J-2 Contracting Company: 6,000 tons from 450 East 16th Street at $7.50 a ton for a total amount of $45,000.00 15,000 tons WCR 13 and WCR 26 at $8.50 a ton for a total amount of $127,500.00 Colorado Precast Concrete.
