WELD COUNTY COUNCIL:
October 3, 1978
Tape 78-29 GREELEY• COLO.
The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity
with the Weld County Home Rule Charter at 915 10th Street, Greeley,
Colorado, on Tuesday, September 19, 1978 at the hour of 9 A.M.
ROLL CALL: The following members were present:
Bob E. White, President
Floyd Oliver, Vice President
John Martin, Councilmember
Nancy Clark, Councilmember
Also present: Commissioners Dunbar and Roe; 2 UNC students; 5
members of the press; Beverly Thomas, secretary.
MINUTES: Floyd Oliver made a motion, seconded by Nancy Clark, that the
September 19, 1978 meeting minutes be approved as submitted. The
motion was approved unanimously.
ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: Bob White stated that a Road and Bridge memo
from Commissioner Roe should be added to Correspondence.
CORRESPONDENCE: Mr. White noted receipt of resolutions from the
Commissioners regarding Calling for Election on Proposed Amendments
and Publication of Proposed Amendments. He mentioned the Road Report
and the 4-H news.
COUNTY VEHICLES REPORT: The Councilmembers signed the "Use and Misuse of
County Vehicles" Report.
ZONING REPORT: There was a brief discussion regarding the status of the
zoning report. John Martin said that he would conduct interviews to
aid in making a determination regarding the future of this report.
APPROVAL OF PURCHASE ORDERS: Following a brief recess, Nancy Clark made
a motion, seconded by Floyd Oliver, that PurchaseOrders 14293 and 14294
be approved. The motion carried unanimously.
WORKSESSION: Nancy Clark made a motion, seconded by John Martin, that the
Council recess into a worksession until after a meeting with the
Budget Review Panel at 11:30 A.M. The Council discussed aspects of
the budget process with Commissioners Dunbar and Roe.
NEXT COUNCIL MEETING: Following the worksession the Council reconvened.
Nancy Clark made a motion, seconded by Floyd Oliver, that the Council
not meet until November 7, 1978, and that the press be made aware of
the cancelled, October meeting. The Council will have a special
meeting after the budget hearings if the Council President deems it
is necessary. The motion carried unanimously. Discussion was held

regarding the November 7, 1978 regular meeting day for the Council
which would also be Election Day. Nancy Clark amended her previous
motion to state that the Council will not meet November 7, 1978,
but that the next Council meeting will be held on November 8, 1978
at 1:30 P.M.; the press should be notified of the changes. Floyd
Oliver seconded the amended motion and it carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
