Although the number of female households increased by 11, the number of households with male payeesdeclined by 14. The application rate for this category has declined also. These factors indicate that a stabilizing trend may be setting in. The Aid to Needy Disabled caseload increased by 23 individuals while the Old Age Pension load decreased by 10 individuals. Food stamp activity increased after a decline in business shown in the prior month. 207 additional families participated. Thus far participation of migrant farm families is below the prior year participation. Public Assistance expenditures for May decreased by $9,802 compared with the prior month.
