Home My WebLink About780425.tiff RESOLUTION RE: WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATION OF EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY (BONELL CENTER) FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOP- MENT REVENUE BONDS. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society (Bonell Center) has made application for Weld County, Colorado to issue 1. 4 million dollars in Industrial Revenue Bonds , said proposed bond issue being for the purpose of refinancing their current debt and for completing minor construction at said center, and WHEREAS, the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society (Bonell Center) requested a hearing before the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado on the 12th day of July, 1978 at the hour of 2 : 00 p.m. in the Weld County Commissioners hearing room, first floor, Weld County Centennial Center, 915 Tenth Street, Greeley, Colorado, and WHEREAS, at said hearing the Bonell Center requested that the Society' s application be withdrawn at this time due to high interest rates. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the withdrawal of appli- cation for Industrial Development Revenue Bonds be and hereby is approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Weld County, Colorado will carry the Society' s application as a dormant application for the next twelve (12) months and that if during said twelve (12) months it wishes the application to be re-considered that it update its financial statement and submit a current audit and further that no new fees be assessed. l f 780425 The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of July, A.D. , 1978 . Mr. Robert Seibel was present at the hearing and requested that the Society's application be withdrawn at this time due to the high interest rates. Commissioner Jacobucci made a motion to allow the Society to withdraw its request. Commissioner Steinmark seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. County Finance Officer Tom Dority discussed with the Board that at such time as the Society wishes to reapply that it only be required to update its financial statement and submit a current audit. Commissioner Steinmark made a motion that the county carry the Society's application as a dormant application for the next 12 months and that if during those 12 months it wishes the application to be considered that it update its financial statement and submit a current audit and further that no new fees be assessed. Commissioner Roe seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. All commissioners except Commissioner Carlson were present for the hearing. Box 459 Greeley, CO 80631 Dear Mr. Dority: As a follow-up to our phone conversation of July 7, 1978, please accept this letter as our request to withdraw our proposal for the issuance of $1.4 million in industrial development bonds for the refinancing of a section of this facility. As I mentioned to you, we have been carefully and continuously evaluating the sharp increase in interest rates which have been occurring in recent months, since our original submission of the proposal. Since the interest rates have increased by approximately, two peroentage points since our initial proposal, we find that it is no longer financially to our advantage to pursue the refi- nancing at this time. It is possible that at a later date, when interest rates are again more favorable, that we would like the opportunity to approach Weld County with the possibility of the issuance of the bonds. I would like to express my very sincere and heartfelt thanks for all of your assistance and for the assistance of Weld County. Your cooperation has been a great benefit to us, and we appreciate your willingness, and the willingness of the Commissioners to work with us. We hope that this withdrawal does not cause any inconvenience to you or to the Commissioners. As you suggested, I will be in attendance at the scheduled public hearing on July 12, to submit our request for the withdrawal to the Commissioners. Thank you again for your cooperation.
