RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 41 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 74 AND 76, AND 74
AND 72, FOR FIFTEEN (15) WORKING DAYS, FOR RESIDENTIAL GAS LINE
UPGRADE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic
thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the
Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 41, between County Roads 74 and 76,
and 74 and 72, be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective April 16, 2013, for
approximately fifteen (15) working days for a residential gas line upgrade, and further, that
standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the
restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 15th day of April, A.D., 2013.

SUBJECT: Agenda Item / Road Closure
Please submit the enclosed item for Monday's agenda:
Road Closure for Residential Gas Line Upgrade
Atmos Energy is requesting to close CR 41 between CR 74 and CR 76 and between CR 74 and
CR 72, for 15 days, beginning April 16th, in order to upgrade an existing line to meet PUC
required standards. Notification letters have been sent out to residences by Atmos Energy.
Attached is the traffic detour diagram and notification letter.
Gravel roads within the detour will be managed for dust control.

Atmos Energy will be upgrading natural gas facilities in your
area.
Our estimated date to start construction is
4/15/13
You will be notified prior to any work on your property.

Your gas service should not be interrupted.
However, WCR 41 will be closed for approximately 15 days.
WCR 74 will remain open throughout project.
