The Eaton Area Recreation Committee is an ad hoc committee seeking to establish a Recreation District for Eaton, Colorado and the
surrounding area. The proposed boundary is the same as the Eaton Re -2 school District in Northern Colorado
Eaton Area Recreation Committee
Among the topics of discussion at a meeting held this summer between the Eaton
School Board and the members of the Eaton Town Board, was the desire of many
community members to have a Recreation Center/Swimming Pool that would
serve area residents and also meet some of the needs of the school.
Since then, it has become the desire of numerous community members of Eaton
and the surrounding area to form a recreation district, benefiting those
community members that are located within the boundaries of what is currently
considered the Weld County RE -2 Eaton School District. Until a formal entity can
be legally formed, this committee of concerned community members will
oversee the formation of a recreation district. Once a legal entity is formed and
governmental approvals are obtained, this committee will cease function.
This committee will be called the Eaton Area Recreation Committee with the sole
duties of overseeing the formation and statutory responsibilities of the formation
of a special district.
The Eaton Area Recreation Committee has met several times with a common goal
in mind; to enhance the quality of life in the Eaton area by providing high quality
recreation facilities and programs for our residents.
There is still a lot of work to be done and would very much like to have your help.
Here are some ways that you can get involved:
• Complete the survey on the reverse side or online.
• Volunteer to serve on a committee- committee descriptions can be
found on the Facebook page
• "Like Us" on Facebook (Eaton Area Recreation Committee) to help
get the word out to other members of the community.
• Email us with any input that you might have - earc@eatonco.org.
Please feel free to contact us by email, Facebook message or by contacting any of
the committee members.
On the reverse side you will find our first survey and the "OR" Codes to take the
survey online and to "Like Us" on Facebook. We will keep updated meeting
information and progress on our Facebook page and through community
meetings and announcements. We appreciate your help and look forward to
working with our community on this project.
