My name is Veronica Sekich Silbaugh. I live at 6927 WCR 32 Platteville, CO. We live in
unincorporated Weld County. I am representing the Nick Sekich Family and we have farmed this
land since 1935.
Firestone is proposing annexation of the Kurt's Ranch on a flag pole annexation for a gun
range.
I know you all are well informed of what is going on with this annexation. What I feel you
don't know is how abandon your constituents feel by our elected officials. 100% of the land
surrounding this proposed annexation is owned by unincorporated weld county residents who are
ALL opposed to what Firestone is doing. 3,600 acres of people who voted you into office have
been left, abandon by their county. We would like you to change this and meet with us. We
would love for you to tell us that we have not been abandon. Show us that the very thing that
Weld County prides itself for is not just talk. You see we are farmers, ranchers, dairymen,
cattle men, oil and gas companies, home owners, land owners. We make Weld County one of the
most financially secure county's in the state. Yet you abandon us. Do you know all of the
businesses that will be directly impacted by Firestone and the firearms ranch? Let me inform
you: Anadarko - Formally Opposed, Aurora Dairy - Formally Opposed, Town of Mead - Formally
Opposed, Town of Platteville - Formally Opposed, Aristocrat Angus - Fomally Opposed, Miller
Farms -Formally Opposed, Salazar Family Farms -Formally Opposed, Sekich Farms - Formally
Opposed, Geoff Morris Quarter Horses - Formally Opposed, Accord St. Vrain Farms - Formally
Opposed. Not to mention all of the home owners that will loose everything. Our quality of
life will be gone. Our very lively hoods will be gone. This annexation and the arrogance of
the Town of Firestone should have you raging mad. This should have you reaching out to us yet
we have had nothing more than a meeting initiated by those opposed to the annexation not by
you. It's not to late to help us. Please give us an olive branch. We pride ourselves on
being Weld County Resident. Please don't make us wonder why. We have faith that our elected
officials will come through for us. Please meet with us and support us. We are what Weld
County is!
