Now, after reading the news accounts, I'm deeply disappointed. Perhaps you're merely posturing but you might be serious. Your actions, in either event, are an embarrassment, and make Washington's dysfunction look like child play. My first allegiance is as an American; next, I'm a Coloradan; and finally a citizen of Weld County. I've never believed that as a Weld County property owner I'm entitled to ignore our county regulations or our state laws. Just as anyone else, I may not agree with all the laws which affect me, but I'm mature enough to understand that our system of laws protect me as a citizen of our republic. And I'm wise enough to sense how foolish it is to threaten to secede from this union of states. Presently, as a county, we haven't even paved all of our roads, whereas only 1% of all the nation's streets and highways remain unpaved today. We're not just rural — we're way behind. Natural gas pipelines run right past my property, owned by large companies who will furnish that low cost energy to others around the continent, while I must depend upon a propane truck to deliver my heating fuel at substantially higher rates. If you're really searching for a mission to help us, why not start by improving those elements of our out-of-date infrastructure? Those of us in rural Weld County could probably anticipate a proposed "State of North Colorado" to offer a life style similar to a third world country. And I shudder to contemplate how you'd run an entirely new state if you think moving our county out of Colorado is truly an acceptable mission. Sincerelj, fl Pete'r M. Brown 2013-1581 C n va -t3 Hello
