Dear Mr. Conway:
IN REPLY REFER TO:
153-C
RECEIVED
OCT 022013
WELD COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS
Community: Unincorporated Areas of Weld
County, CO
Community No.: 080266
On May 31, 2013, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in -partnership with the Colorado
Water Conservation Board (CWCB), issued preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps to your community
for review. A Final Consultation Coordination Officer meeting was conducted on July 25, 2013. On
September 4, 2013, we mailed your community a letter (copy enclosed) providing notification of
publication of changes associated with the preliminary FIRMs and FIS Report, as well as commencement
of a statutory 90 -day appeal period. As a result of recent severe flooding throughout Weld County, the
appeal period for your community has been postponed. Once the effects of flooding on the preliminary
flood hazard data have been assessed, the appeal period will be rescheduled.
An explanation of the 90 -day appeal period is included in the enclosed letter. Once FEMA and CWCB are
able to reschedule the appeal period, your community will be notified by letter. As a reminder, the decision
by your community to appeal the addition or modification of Base Flood Elevations, base flood depths,
Special Flood Hazard Area boundaries or zone designations, or the regulatory floodway, or a copy of your
community's decision not to appeal, should be filed with FEMA by the close of the appeal period.
Sincerely,
L/6" --
