DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS DENVER 22, COLORADO November 30, 1956 Board of County Commissioners Weld County Greeley, Colorado Gentlemen: • In connection with the State Highway routings in Weld • County we are enclosing herewith, one (1) copy each of Resolutions No. 427-C, 430-C, 445-C, and 452-C, approved November 15, 1956, effective December 1, 1956, together with a copy of the Weld County maps, upon which have been indicated by symbol the additions and deletions to the State Highway System resulting therefrom. These Resolutions are forwarded for your information and file. If it is the desire of your board that the abandoned portions should remain public highways, your board should adopt the necessary resolutions to add them to your county system as the 1953 Colorado Statutes Annotated, Chapter 202, Section 6 states that the right-of- way of all abandoned portions of a state highway shall revert to the adjacent property owners, unless the abandoned portions are necessary for use as a public highway anda resolution so stating is adopted by the County Board of Commissioners within ninety (90) days of the abandonment as part of the State Highway System. Gentlemen:- We, the undersigned , citizens of Weld county, and owners of real estate in Section 2 , Tp. 5 N. , R. 65 W. , hereby object and protest in the matter of making a road through said Section 2 , as pro- posed by a certain petition on file with the Board of County Commision- ers of said Meld Count and as more particularly outlined by the Y, surrrey and report of the Road Viewers appointed in that behalf. We object especially to the survey as made by the Surveyor, Lewis Stinson , and the line therein proposed , for the reason that we think- it the least advantageous and would result in a great loss to those most interested and said route is better land than is necessary and that some other route could be projected whereby the needs of the public would be as well benefited and our interests less damaged therein .
