The Northeastern Colorado Association of Local Governments, NECALG, is in
receipt of your letter dated August 15, 2013, signed by William F. Garcia, Chair, regarding
notice of cessation of fuel sales to this Organization from the Weld County fueling station.
The NECALG is a "public non-profit (DoR tax exempt number 98-04505)" providing
services to the County per allocation of federal, state and other funding. In the course of
providing services in a ten -county service area, we also purchase fuel from Morgan County
where that County has determined that our Organization does not violate the stated
Colorado Revised Statutes, Section 39-27-101 or Section 39-27-103.
We have been able to save, I am sure, thousands over the years we have partnered
in the fueling services with Weld County that has allowed us to serve more County
residents with energy conservation services. I believe we would not cause the County to
violate any Statute in the continuance of this service. I ask that this decision be
reconsidered.
I would be available to meet with the Commission should it be of benefit toward
resolution of this issue.
