HomeMy WebLinkAbout20132752.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON COUNTY ROAD 390 AT VARIOUS COUNTY ROADS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that 13 Stop signs be installed on County Road 390 at various county roads detailed in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install 13 Stop signs on various county roads as detailed in Exhibit A, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 30th day of September, A.D., 2013. The Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) section 2B.04 suggests that stop signs should be placed at an intersection of a less important road with a main road where application of the normal right-of-way rule would not be expected to provide reasonable compliance with the law.
