RESOLUTION
RE: DENIAL OF PETITION TO OPEN ,A PORTION OF COUNTY ROAD NO. 14.
•
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, are vested with the authority of administering the ,
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, arid
WHEREAS, a-petition has- been received in the office of the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado requesting
that a portion of :County Road No. 14 be opened from County Road
No. 55 East to the Hudson ,Canal running between Sections 3, Town-
ship 1 North, Range 64 West and Section 34 , Township 2 North,
Range 64 West of the 6th P.M. , a/k/a Henrylyn Canal, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineer, after investigation of
the facts and circumstances, informed the Board of County Commis-
sioners that the opening of this portion of Road no. 14 would not
benefit the public in any way, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, after investigation
of the facts and circumstances of the petition for opening of said
road and upon good cause shown, believes it not to be in the best
interest of the County of Weld to open said portion of County Road
No. 14.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commis-
sioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the petition to open a portion
of County Road No. 14 from County Road 55,East to the Hudson; Canal,
hereinabove described, a/k/a Henrylyn Canal, be and hereby is denied.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 21st day =of
March, A.D. , 1977. ,
The above and foregoing Resolution was read into the record '
and signed on `the 23rd day of March, A.D. , 1977.

TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WELD COUNTY, COLORADO '
GENTLEMEN:

We, the undersigned, Citizens of your County, respectfully represent that the necess�-
ties of the public require that a public highway be constructed, pursuant 'to. and in —
accordance with that Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Weld, State of Colorado, passed and adopted on the 12th day of October, A. D. 1889,
which resolution is recorded • • .
We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be constructed a public highway

.. Subject: Road Petition On Or Before
Contact was made with Mr. John Schweitzer (owner of said 20
acre parcel) by telephone and an on site inspection was made.
Mr. Schweitzer ' s request was to open County Road 14 from
County Road 55 East to the Hudson Canal .
In my opinion the proposed opening would not get the owner to
the 20 acre parcel, and the opening of Road 14 as proposed
would dead end at the canal which would not benefit the public
in any way. I also do not feel that the said 20 acre parcel
is land locked due to the' fact the owner could build a private
bridge to said property.
Therefore the recommendation of this office is to deny Road
Petition as submitted.
