SUBJECT: 2013 Cattle Guard Bid, B1300044
The Public Works Department recommends the low bidder, DBE Manufacturing, be awarded the bid for
complete cattle guards (24'x7'9") at a cost of $8,489.00 each or a total of $19,467.00 for three; and complete
cattle guards (16'x7'9") at a cost of $4,289.00 each or a total of $12,867.00 for three. We further recommend
they receive the bid for additional foundations at a cost of $337.33 each or a total of $8,095.92 for twenty-four
foundations, and for additional gate supports at a cost of $289.95 each or a total of $1,159.80 for four. The
grand total for six complete cattle guards, twenty-four additional foundations, and four additional gate supports
is $41,589.72.
There is $27,200 budgeted for the purchase of complete cattle guards. The foundations and gate supports
are maintenance items without a specific budgeted amount.
