Original Message From: John McGrath Sent: Thursday, July 18, 2013 11:22 AM To: Esther Gesick; Monica Mika Subject: FW: $12,000 Donation to the SO from Noble and Anadarko Ester, At Barb Connelly's suggestion I wanted to forward you the "guts" of a resolution by the County Commissioners reflecting the receipt of two $6,000 donated checks we received for the purpose of purchasing night vision equipment to combat oil field theft. These generous donations by Anadarko and Noble represent support for our Sheriff's Office in combating the continuing theft of oil field equipment in Weld County. The oil company security folks solicited how their companies could assist in this effort in relation to investigating oil field theft. Based on discussions with Sheriff's Office personnel it was determined that night vision equipment would enhance these theft investigations. Noble and Anadarko pitched in a total of $12,000 towards the purchase of that equipment by donating checks for $6,000 each. Hope that helps. I'll make arrangements to bring the checks over to Barb Connelly. From: John McGrath Sent: Friday, June 28, 2013 3:52 PM To: William Garcia; Barb Connolly; Don Warden Subject: $12,000 Donation to the SO from Noble and Anadarko Today the Sheriff's Office received two checks for $6,000 each, as donations towards the purchase of night vision goggles for deputies. These donations transpired from a meeting between Weld County law enforcement and security folks from Noble and Anadarko about a month ago discussing oil field theft. The oil company security folks asked the deputies what they needed in relation to surveillance equipment for investigating oil field theft and the deputies told them night vision goggles. So Noble and Anadarko pitched in a total of $12,000 towards the purchase of that equipment. What I am unsure of is how we proceed from here with the donations, maintain transparency, and obtain the much needed equipment. I would appreciate some advice on how to proceed and to determine whether or not the Commissioners would like to discuss the $12,000 and the earmarking of those funds. Thanks in advance for your help. Jack Jack McGrath Undersheriff Weld County Sheriff's Office 1950 0 Street Greeley CO 80631 (970) 356-4015 ext 2811 3 Hello
