We would like to begin by building a basic shooting area with ten outdoor lanes. If the range is successful over die next year, we would like to include an indoor range with all public Conveyances. Page 2 1) BMP's The property is entirely self-contained and all runoff on the property is directed to our detention ponds. The bullets will be controlled by energy absorbing targets. They will be collected and recycled on a weekly basis. Please see plan details. 2) Building We have decided to use our existing building as an office. We wish to build a canopy over the shooting area. Plans for the structure and included. Please see plan details. 3) Dust Will be controlled by the use of recycled concrete and asphalt (already in use). We would also like to impose a 15 mph speed limit. However we believe our impact in this area will be minor compared to the oil and gas traffic we experience seven days a week. 4) Noise Will be controlled via and 8' to 10' berm around the shooting area. 5) Access Plan Access will be on our east driveway off Weld County Road 10, less than 1/4 mile west of Weld County Road 19. Please see plans and pictures. 6) Traffic We believe there will be an average of 20 vehicles per day. All traffic will be coming from Weld County Road 19. They will travel approximately 1/4 mile to our east entrance. There should be 70% from the south with 30% from the north. Our traffic should be minable compared to the influx of oil and gas traffic. Page 3 7) Grading There will be minable grading for leveling purposes. A 10' berm of earth will be constructed on all sides. 8) Restrooms We propose to use handicap San -o -lets, as used by the city's and various businesses in our area. Please see pictures. If we do construct an indoor range next year we would include public restrooms in the building. 9) Well Permit Permit Number 214568 We have also contacted the NRA for their assistance. "There is no livestock umd no fanning. c) Currently there is a shop that is 40x60: There will he an office in the front' shop as well as display cases for the purpose of Retail Sales and Service. There is an existing bathroom it will be for private use. Saco -o -lets will be provided at range. d) Storage: There will be a safe to place guns in after office hours. Currently we have ADT security. 2) The proposal is consistent with the intent of the Weld County Code, Chapter 22 of the. Compressive plan in that the small business will be a shooting range. a) I .A. GOAL, 6.2 j & L Shooting Center find retail sales and services. Supports opportunities, such as but not limited to hobby farming and Home Businesses, to supplement family income and reduce living expenses for rural families or others who prefer a rural lifestyle. b) GOAL, 7.1 J & I. Shooting Center and retail sales and services. County land use regulations find industrial uses that are directly related to or dependent upon agriculture area. The impact to surrounding properties is minimal. 3) This proposal is consistent with the intent of the Weld County Code, Chapter 23 and zone district which it is located. a) Section C 4 - Recreational facilities and USES including: Shooting ranges, subject to the provisions of Section 23-4-370. L Page 2;I, 4) Types of uses surround the site. a) The surrounding area is zoned agricultural. Most properties arc five or more acres. Some owners grow alfalfa. Gas and oil rigs and a big Compressor plant. A lot of trallic due to oil and gas operation also the plant is not quite. Originally we fell in love with the calmness of the property the fresh air and the views. When we first purchased our property it was so quiet wills hardly any traffic on road 10. We almost knew who was on the road by their car. Not the case today. The expected volume of waste generated will be trash from the operation Cturently we use a dumpster (8' Wide 4' Deep and 4' tall) provided by Waste Management. They pick up weekly, every Tuesday. The waste plan for the Lead and Copper - The copper and lead will he picked up weekly on the shooting range and sorted and stored in barrels. When barrels are full they will he taken to a local scrap metal recycling company.
