EMERGENCY MEETING MINUTES
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
SEPTEMBER 13, 2013
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in Emergency session in full
conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County
Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, September 13, 2013, at the hour of 9:35 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following
members were present in person or via speaker phone, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner William F. Garcia, Chair
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Mike Freeman
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Monica Mika
NEW BUSINESS:
'---- 1) CONSIDER DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO
SIGN ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS: Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved to waive the Special
Meeting 24 -hour writtin notice requirement. Seconded by Commissioner Freeman, the motion carried
unanimously. Chair Garcia stated the Resolution to Declare Disaster Emergency has been distributed
to all Board members via e-mail correspondence. Commissioner Conway commented this action
is being taken in anticipation of the outcome of this historic 500-1,000 year flood. This will put the
County in a position to respond to anticipated damages. Commissioner Rademacher agreed, stating
the damage is epic in southern Weld County. Chair Garcia indicated Commissioners Rademacher and
Kirkmeyer have been very responsive in their southern districts to keep everyone informed.
. Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved to approve the Resolution Declaring a Disaster Emergency and
authorize the Chair to sign any necessary documents. Seconded by Commissioner Conway, the
motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
