I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated April 5, 1978 in
the Johnstown Breeze, a public hearing was held at the Centennial
Center, Greeley, Colorado at 2:00 P. M. for the purpose of informing
the citizens of Weld County of the 1978 Carnunity Developrent Block
Grant Program and for soliciting citizen input for said program.
Weld County Commissioners Norman Carlson, Leonard Roe, June Steinmark
and Chairman Ed Dunbar and Weld County Planning Director Gary Fortner
and his staff, Alan Jost and William Rodriquez presented the program
and answered questions fran the public. As per regulations, Mr. Jost
asked if anyone in the audience needed any portions of the presentation
translated into Spanish. No one requested a translation. Requests
for funding were made for the Midwest Childrens Hare for handicapped
youngsters, by Ann Thayer. Loren Uhrig, owner of Terrace Mobile Hare
Park, asked that the property located East of said park be improved.
Said property is bounded by the Town of Evans on three sides. The
Evans City Manager, LaVerne L. Ijaues, and the Mayor of Evans, Gene
Aplin, reinforced this request and further noted they would assist.
Frank Galicia, fran Wattenberg, expressed his appreciation for the
assistance received todate and requested additional assistance in
order to continue the Wattenberg project. In his opinion approximately
40% of the sites in the Wattenberg area needing improvements have been
helped. Alvin Garcia, representing Espanola Snbivision, asked for
additional assistance in order to continue the Espanola project.
Additional requests were not presented at said hearing. Commissioner
Steinmark made a motion to continue this hearing at the regular Board
Mooting scheduled for Morxlay, May 8th, 1978 at 9:00 A. M. Commissioner
Roe seconded the motion and all four Commissioners in attendance voted
aye. This hearing was adjourned at 3:15 P. M.

a public hearing was held at Frederick Town Hall, Frederick,
Colorado at 7: 30 P.M. for the purpose of informing the
citizens of Weld County of the 1978 Community Development
Block Grant Program and for soliciting citizen input for said
program. Weld County Commissioners Leonard Roe and June
Steinmark and Commissioner Chairman Ed Dunbar and Weld County
Planning Director Gary Fortner and his staff, Alan Jost and
William Rodriquez presented the program and answered questions
from the public. As per regulations, Mr. Jost asked if any-
one in the audience needed any portions of the presentation
translated into spanish. Mr. Rodriquez asked the same question
in spanish. No one requested a translation. Requests for
funding centered around the Four Square Church childrens home
for handicapped youngsters, funds to continue with the Community-
Development program begun in Evanston and funds to continue the
Community Development program in Watterberg. There were also
questions from representatives of some of the incorporated towns
in the area which were answered. Mr. Jost informed those
in attendance that the second hearing would be held on May 4 ,
1978 at 2: 00 P.M. in the Commissioners Chambers on the first
floor of the Weld County Centennial Center in Greeley, Colorado.
Chairman Dunbar thanked those persons attending for coming
and for their input and adjourned the meeting at 8 : 40 P.M.
