RE: INCREASE OF CHANGE FUNDS FOR CLERK AND RECORDER'S OFFICE IN
GREELEY MOTOR VEHICLE DEPARTMENT, FORT LUPTON BRANCH OFFICE,
AND SOUTHWEST WELD COMPLEX
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the Board that the Change Fund in Greeley
Motor Vehicle Department be increased by $1,990.00, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the Board that the Change Fund in the Fort
Lupton Branch Office be increased by $420.00, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the Board that the Change Fund in the
Southwest Weld Complex be increased by $520.00, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to increase said Change Funds
in the Greeley Motor Vehicle Department, Fort Lupton Branch Office and Southwest Weld
Complex.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Controller be, and hereby is, authorized to increase said
Change Fund in the Greeley Motor Vehicle Department by $1,990.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Controller be, and hereby is,
authorized to increase said Change Fund in the Fort Lupton Branch Office by $420.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Controller be, and hereby is,
authorized to increase said Change Fund in the Southwest Weld Complex by $520.00.

SUBJECT: Increase in cash Drawers
Attached is a spread sheet from the Clerk & Recorders office, Motor Vehicle Division.
Currently the three offices they have cash on hand totaling $6,370, with Greeley having $3,010, and
Del Camino and Ft Lupton each having $1,680. They are finding that there are some inefficiencies
with the cash that is on the front line. When payment is made by cash they usually do not have
sufficient amount to make change and therefore need to leave their work station and go to the back
to get change.
The request is to increase the cash drawers so each drawer starts the morning with $100. There is
also a need to increase the cash in the back or the "bank" in the Greeley location by $500.
I agree with what the request and the reasoning and would recommend approval. This will be an
increase of $2,930, with $1,990 in Greeley, $420 in Ft Lupton and $520 in Del Camino.
As part of the audit each year it is confirmed that each location does have the appropriate funds on
hand so this is tracked in the accounting system.
Let me know if you would like to have a work session to further discuss prior to coming with the
attached resolution.
