RE: APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER TO COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY
BOARD.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado deems it advisable to appoint a member of the Board of
County Commissioners to serve on the Communications Advisory
Board and further that said Commissioner shall serve as the
Chairman of the Communications Advisory Board, and
WHEREAS, the Communications Advisory Board shall elect a
Vice-Chairman, and
WHEREAS, the Communications Director shall be a non-voting
member of said Advisory Board, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable
to direct the County Attorney' s Office to re-write the Communica-
tions Advisory Board By-Laws to reflect the abovementioned changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Weld County, Colorado that a member of the Board of
County Commissioners shall be appointed to the Communications
Advisory Board and that said Commissioner shall serve as the
Chairman of the Conmiunications Advisory Board, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the Communications Advisory Board shall elect a Vice-Chairman,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the Communications Director shall be a non-voting member of
said Advisory Board, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the Weld County Attorney ' s Office be, and hereby is, directed
to re-write the Communications Advisory Board By-Laws to reflect
the abovementioned changes and that the revised By-Laws shall be
presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.

Gentlemen:
Consideration in the above matter was taken by the members of the subcommittee
on March 30, 1979, at a meeting at the Weld County Centennial Building in Gill
Olson's office. Below are some recommendations which we feel should be dis-
cussed by the Weld County Communications Center Advisory Board and instituted
into the Policy and Procedure Manual.
1. The Weld County Communications Director shall not be a member of the
Weld County Communications Center Advisory Board. He shall be requested
to attend all Advisory 'card meetings in the capacity as an advisor,
and advise in the :eatter of technical problems and areas of service;
i.e. , training policies, officer complaints, staffing and other areas
of concern to the Weld County Communications Center Advisory Board.
2. The Chairman and Vice-Chairman should be elected from the membership
of the Weld County Communications Center Advisory Board and should
be elected annually by secret ballot at the first regular meeting of
each calendar year.
3. Should any vacancy occur in the position of Chairman or Vice-Chairman
during the calendar year they are serving, it shall be filled by a
member of the Advisory Board at the next meeting.
4. The director of the Weld County Communications Center shall furnish
the Weld County Communications Center Advisory Board with a secretary
to attend all Advisory Board meetings and record and maintain minutes
of the meetings, keep all records and correspondence and serve at
the pleasure of the Weld County Communications Center Advisory Board.
